Natural portraiture is more than just shooting with sunlight. It is the art of capturing the essence of a soul as it truly exists. It is achieving the level of trust with my subjects that allows them to be vulnerable. It is establishing a bond that grants me access to their world and then lets me disappear inside it. Invisibility is a photographer’s best friend.
La Muse began solely as a pet portraiture studio--an easy and organic decision. The gravitational pull between my camera and my two best friends and companions, Scout and Radley, was inescapable. I’ve been referred to as the Dog Whisperer of photography. Not a bad tag if you ask me.

As many of my “pet” clients began having children, La Muse evolved with open arms to include these fascinating pint-sized subjects. Kids and creatures share many of the same wonderful attributes. Mainly, you can’t fool either. more require patience, respect and flexibility to shine their brightest?

“My love of photography also includes supporting several local philanthropic organizations that I feel passionate about. Today about one-third of my time dedicated to assisting these organizations through photography. I’ve never been one to run with the pack. So, as long as there is love, joy, and authenticity to be found, La Muse Photography will continue to stretch to meet the needs and desires of its friends and clientele.
